Creative techniques for learning the rules of the road
The selection describes effective, inexpensive types of crafts. These are techniques that kids can understand and use accessible materials.
Craft games
Applications
Application according to traffic rules is an important method in the preparatory group. Through this technique, children are introduced to the structure of traffic lights, the meanings of road signs, and street layouts. To build a paper traffic light, prepare:
- white and colored sheets;
- markers;
- rulers;
- pencils;
- glue;
- scissors (for older preschoolers).
How to dramatize fairy tales in secondary groups of preschool educational institutions
The basis of the craft is a blank sheet with a drawn rectangle and three circles inside. Paper figures are glued on top in the correct order. The rectangle can be shaded or painted over. At the end of the work, the little master explains the order of the colors and what they mean. The student uses a ruler or draws lines with his naked hand, improving concentration and fine motor skills.
Important! Before classes, a conversation is held about safety rules.
Modeling from plasticine
Three-dimensional figures are molded from plasticine and spread over the shape. This is how road signs are made. Use:
- stencils;
- rolling board;
- stacks;
- white plasticine.
Step-by-step instruction:
- Knead the plasticine with your hands.
- Pinch off pieces.
- Attach them to the base and rub.
- Fill in the signs by smearing white plasticine over the template.
- Plasticine that has gone beyond the contour is removed in stacks.
The group makes the same sign to consolidate knowledge about it.
Drawings
Younger preschoolers in kindergarten draw scenes based on traffic rules, objects, and explain them. Children, if desired, depict signs, zebras, cars on the road. Drawings can be used as a basis for game layouts. In this case, they are supplemented with structures, toys, figures made of plasticine and other materials. In the kindergarten, in warm weather, images are painted with crayons outside in a designated area. Older children invent and draw correct and incorrect situations and comment on them.
Crafts from cereals and pasta
Cars, houses, plants, and animals are made from pasta of various shapes. They choose interesting types: horns, shells, straws, long noodles. Purchase products in natural colors and with dyes. Prepare a flat, roomy base on which the figures will be fixed. It could be a board, cardboard. In groups, the children create a didactic panel in the form of a town. Multi-colored cereals are used as a material for modeling and drawing. Dry porridge is sprinkled on the “streets” and “roads” of the compositions.
Master class on making a pasta truck:
- Prepare liquid glue, pasta in the form of horns, short tubes, flowers, “ruffles”.
- Assemble the “cabin”: glue 3 tubes together to form a rectangle. Repeat the action.
- The rectangles are glued together with the flat side.
- On one side of the product, two more are attached to the lower tube, one after the other.
- Glue another rectangle from 6 of the same pasta. It is glued to the back of the cabin. This is the body.
- The body walls are made from “ruffles”.
- Wheels—horns—are attached to the bottom of this structure.
- There are 2 “flowers” installed in front of the body - headlights.
Note! The child, analyzing the shape and structure of cars, comes up with his own versions of pasta technology.
Organizing a crafts exhibition in kindergarten
Exhibitions of children's creativity are mandatory educational events. Their goals:
- improving the baby's self-esteem;
- developing a sense of responsibility;
- formation of taste;
- strengthening the connection between children and parents through joint creativity;
- familiarizing participants with each other’s creativity, stimulating healthy competition.
Exhibition on traffic rules
Exhibitions are joint celebrations where the entire school and parents are invited. They are held several times a year. Families take pictures and communicate. The best exhibits are sent to a permanent exhibition.
Reading fairy tales in preparatory groups of kindergartens
During the organization of the event:
- set a date;
- choose a topic;
- notify children;
- Invitation leaflets are prepared upon request.
To summarize, posters are prepared with photographs of the works and masters.
Important! During the exhibition, discipline is controlled by the teacher. Crafts on traffic rules for parents and kids
The selection includes master classes on creating game panels on various topics. They will serve as an illustration of traffic rules.
Crossroads
You will need:
- toy cars;
- rulers;
- pencils, felt-tip pens;
- glue;
- scissors;
- cardboard;
- multi-colored paper;
- base from the bottom of a cardboard box.
Stages of work:
- They construct buildings from boxes covered with colored sheets. You can make a school, a residential building, a store.
- They glue and draw windows and roofs.
- Cut the white sheet into strips 5cm wide. Glue them onto black cardboard to create a zebra.
- Cut off two long white stripes and 8 short ones. They are glued to gray cardboard - this is a road with markings.
- They are making trees, 4 traffic lights (on each side of the crossing).
- The crafts are attached to the base and the cars are placed.
You can use a real intersection known to your child as a model. Thinking through an idea is no less important than implementing it.

Parking
You will need:
- a pair of hard cardboard boxes;
- glue;
- scissors;
- blue, white paper;
- a simple pencil;
- cars, helicopter.
Stages of work:
- They create a three-story base: 3 identical sheets (from boxes) are attached horizontally to another vertical sheet. Make sure that the distance between floors is the same.
- A long, wide ribbon in the shape of a semicircle is cut out of cardboard. It should connect the 1st and 3rd floors. This road is connected to the lower floor on the right, and to the upper floor on the left.
- On the platform they place a cardboard tube with a “lid” - this is a place for a helicopter.
- Markings are made by gluing white stripes (spaces for cars) and blue tapes with arrows (traffic indicators).
- Cars are being arranged.
The process is discussed with the child so that the child sees the logic of what is happening.
original ideas for children's crafts
Summary of nodes for the “traffic light” application in the second junior group
In elementary school, during fine arts lessons, children often make various crafts on certain topics. A very interesting idea is the idea of crafts on the theme “The road through the eyes of children,” which is usually given as homework. And as a rule, children ask their parents for help with this work. At first glance, a simple job can turn into a complete nightmare, the reason for which is the lack of suitable ideas. However, not everything is so scary, since there are quite a lot of options for travel-themed crafts.
Studying traffic rules with the help of fine arts
It is necessary to teach a child to cross the street correctly and look around from early childhood, since on the way to school and on returning home he is a pedestrian, and therefore a participant in traffic.
Therefore, it is very important that the child learns the most important road signs, in which making themed crafts with his own hands can help him
If your child has cars and loves to play with them, then you can make an imitation of a city from an ordinary cardboard box with buildings, roads, traffic lights and road signs, the meaning of which you should tell the child about. Just by playing with his favorite toys, the child will gradually remember their meaning.
Making the road
To create a city road, you will need a black marker, with which you need to draw two parallel lines on the bottom of the box and paint over the gap between them. Next, you need to cut out small white strips from white paper and stick them in the center of our road, resulting in road markings. To make the dummy of the city more attractive and more interesting to play with, the space on the sides of the road can be painted with green watercolors or an imitation of a lawn can be created using an ordinary dishcloth, and artificial trees can also be placed in random order.
Making a traffic light
To study traffic rules more effectively, you cannot do without a traffic light during the game. It will allow the child to remember the meaning of the signal of each color and use this knowledge in everyday life. You can make it from an ordinary shoe box, which should be covered with black paper. Next, on the front side we glue three identical circles of different colors - red, yellow and green. The final touch will be making a stand for the traffic light, for which you can use ordinary cardboard and a small piece of wood.
Don't be afraid to try something of your own and get creative. For example, if you don’t have an unnecessary box, you can make a traffic light from plasticine or bake delicious cookies and decorate them with multi-colored icing that imitates a traffic light. It will not only be interesting, but also tasty and educational. In a similar way, you can make a pedestrian traffic light, which has only two signals.
Learn road signs as you play
Any training goes better if you approach it correctly. This also applies to road signs, which are much better remembered in games. For example, if you want to teach traffic rules to a five-year-old child, then make a small album or keep a notebook in which you will paste the learned signs every day.
You can also make a board game with your own hands, during which you will tell your child about new signs and how to behave on the road. To do this, you will need a square-shaped piece of carpet, measuring 60x60 centimeters. Velcro is sewn onto the front side to imitate the road. Next, small squares are cut out of the carpet, Velcro is sewn on one side, and road signs, traffic lights, as well as pictures depicting vehicles and people are sewn on the other. Thus, just by playing a game with your child, you can instill in him the rules of the road as a child.

Volumetric traffic lights from scrap materials
If you show imagination and ingenuity, you can make not only a flat traffic light, but also a three-dimensional one. To create it we use:
- packaging boxes;
- yogurt jars;
- plasticine;
- plastic containers;
- plywood;
- yarn;
- colored paper.
From cardboard boxes
- For this craft you need to take a rectangular box.
- Trim off the top.
- Cover with black paper.
- Glue colorful circles onto paper.
- Attach a handle from a rope, threading it into the side holes that need to be pierced in the box.
Now you can play with a traffic light by moving it from place to place.
From a toilet paper roll
Don't throw away cardboard toilet paper rolls. They make great crafts:
- To work you will need three pieces. They need to be glued together to form a cylinder.
- Cover it with black paper. We glue three multi-colored circles onto it.
- Now you need to make a cylinder from two sheets of black paper, in which circles will be made the size of those glued to the traffic lights.
- When we turn the upper cylinder of black paper, the circle on the traffic light will be visible in the circle on the upper cylinder.
- This way we will get a moving traffic light.
Made from plasticine
Little children can make a traffic light out of plasticine. They will like this kind of work because it is not difficult at all. You need to make circles from different colors and attach them to cardboard.
Older children can make a more complex design. To do this, you need to mold a traffic light structure from plasticine and attach multi-colored balls to it. You can decorate the traffic light with visors made of plasticine or colored paper.
No matter what kind of traffic light you get, it is important to tell children the rules of the road so that they remember what color they can cross the road with. And for this, not only crafts are important, but also poems and stories that talk about traffic lights
From a plastic bottle
For this craft, it is advisable to take a rectangular bottle, then the traffic light will turn out not only three-dimensional, but also with circles on four sides. The bottle should be painted a dark color. The traffic light colors are glued onto it on all four sides.
If you need support for the craft, then insert a stick into the neck and attach the bottle to it. On each side of the bottle you can highlight the light that signals with brighter colors. If you show your imagination, you can make a real traffic controller with a cap on his head and a baton in his hand.
From plywood
Children and their parents will be able to master this craft. After all, you need to cut parts out of plywood and connect them with nails:
- A rectangular frame is made.
- Circles are drawn on each side and painted with paint of the appropriate color.
- You can use LED bulbs, then you need to cut out circles in the plywood and stick colored mica onto the holes.
- When the light turns on, the traffic light will look like a real one.
Instead of plywood, you can use fiberboard.
Knitted
Girls can be asked to knit or crochet a traffic light. If you have the skills to work with beads, you can make a teaching design out of it. A traffic light made of yarn can be voluminous in the form of a rectangular pillow or flat, like a napkin.
The main thing in the work is to show maximum imagination, and then the craft will turn out original and original. In knitting, you do not need to use complex patterns, but simply knit the design with multi-colored circles using knit or purl stitches.
Origami
If you are familiar with the origami technique, then there will be no difficulties in making a traffic light. The main thing is to find a material for the base on which the parts will be glued. They use both paper base and plastic and wood.
The origami technique itself is not complicated, but you need to learn how to fold the parts correctly. And multi-colored circles are made from them and glued to a selected base.
