Developmental activities at home with mom, exercises for every day

The task of parents is to spend as much time as possible with the child and organize his leisure time. First of all, you need to start classes with hand motor skills. It is necessary to get your child interested in building houses from cubes. You should start with the simplest figures, gradually increasing complexity. It is important to constantly talk to the children during the game and explain every action of the owl. There must be praise.

Children aged two to three years show great interest in household chores. Don't discourage yourself from helping your mom. You can invite your baby to sweep or wipe off the dust themselves. You should always invite your child to help their parents. If you don’t do this, you will have to force him at an older age.

Some parents prefer to hire professional nannies to work with their children. This is a big mistake. At an early age, a baby really needs to communicate with his mother. Any exciting game unites and brings parents and children closer together. It is very useful to play with the whole family.

Important! It is recommended not just to select activities, but to focus on the child’s specific abilities. It is best to alternate creative games with active ones. It is important to observe the time of the classes; they should be no more than twenty minutes. It is still very difficult for children to concentrate on one subject for a long time.

Activities with mom

Developing baby's speech

At two years old, a child not only knows the name of an object, but also knows how to describe it. It is necessary to develop his skills, describe color, size. It is important during this period to pay as much attention as possible to reading poems and fairy tales. You can organize theatrical performances. At this age, children love not only to listen, but also to watch.

Closer to the age of three years, when the child can compose small sentences, you can ask him to complete the sentence while reading fairy tales. For example, pause while reading and invite your child to finish the phrase on their own.

It is recommended to use facial expressions and body movements while reading and telling fairy tales. After each fairy tale you read, you need to discuss it with your child. Let him express his opinion about the heroes. This will help develop memory and attention.

Important! It is necessary to put the speech correctly. Parents must remember that the child clearly repeats everything after the parents. In order for your baby to speak correctly, you need to control your manner of speaking.

You can find many manuals and books with rhymes that are designed to develop speech. They are often used by speech therapists for classes. For example, kids really love poems about animals. While reading, you can teach your child how this or that animal makes sounds. You can print out colorful pictures of animals, show them to your baby and ask them to say how it talks.

Reading books

Hand coordination and motor skills

From the age of one and a half, children begin to show interest in sensations. They are fascinated by their hands and often look at them. During this period, the development of fine motor skills is important. It is important for parents to teach their child how to control their hands correctly. All activities for developing motor skills should include finger play. You can use entertaining rhymes or come up with a story yourself. Such activities will help develop coordination.

During this period, physical contact with parents is very important for every child. You need to touch the baby’s hands more often, stroking his palms. When the nerve endings located in the fingers are activated, the parts of the brain that are responsible for the speech apparatus begin to work intensively.

On a note! To develop fine motor skills, you can offer your child games with cereals and buttons. It is worth preparing material of different textures. For example, a piece of leather fabric and fur. You need to teach your child to compare objects based on sensations.

Modeling plays an important role in the development of coordination and motor skills. You need to start with the simplest figures, invite your child to roll a sausage or a ball. After mastering basic skills, you can begin to sculpt more complex shapes. Classes need to be gradually made more difficult.

Motor development

Mindfulness Exercises

Developmental activities for children 2-3 years old should be aimed at developing attention. This is an important quality that needs to be developed from early childhood. If you miss this moment, the baby may become absent-minded. This will further complicate the learning process.

On a note! A two-year-old child most often does what interests him. He very quickly switches attention from one subject to another. In the period from 2.5 to 3 years, the transition from passive attention to active occurs. It is important not to miss this moment.

Little children love to play hide and seek. This is a universal game that can be played not only at home, but also outside in summer and spring. You can hide a toy at home and ask your child to find it. Each time you need to hide the toy in a new place.

You can come up with a fun game: draw and cut out mushrooms, hide them throughout the room, then invite your child to collect all the mushrooms in a basket.

Excellent development of attention and understanding in the construction of structures according to drawings. You can draw them yourself. This lesson is difficult for a two-year-old child, so parental help is required. But gradually he will master the principle, and the lesson will give excellent results.

Diagnostics of creative development of preschool children

It is important for children to develop the skill of switching attention from one subject to another. This will be useful in future educational activities. This skill needs to be given time from early childhood. For example, during an exciting game, you can ask your child a distracting question; if he responds to it, then the development process is going correctly.

Important! Children need to learn to mind their own business and answer their parents' questions at the same time. For example, a baby may be passionate about drawing, but at the same time answer what he did in kindergarten.

Hide and seek for developing attention

Baby's memory development

When learning the process of how to deal with a 2-year-old child, it is important not to miss the development of memory. At birth, the baby does not react to anyone, then gradually begins to remember its parents. At one year old, he already knows all the family members well and recognizes his favorite toys.

At the age of two years, children have involuntary memory. He is able to remember certain words, small poems. It is important at this age to begin to develop memory. To do this, you can use simple games:

  • Read a fairy tale before bed, and then in the morning ask your child what it was about. It is recommended in the evening to ask the baby how his day was, what interesting things he did.
  • You can invite the child to look at the picture, then hide it and after a while ask him to tell what was drawn on it. If he finds it difficult to answer, you can help with leading questions.

On a note! As a game for attention, you need to lay out three or four toys in front of the baby and tell about each of them. Then you need to ask the baby to turn away and hide one toy. The child must say which one is missing.

Development of attention

Development of thinking and perception in children 2-3 years old

Children as young as two years old are primarily interested in bright objects. If you want to play logic games, you need to choose only one subject at a time. For example, today only a pyramid is assembled, the next day a house is built from cubes.

It is important for two-year-old children to study colors. GEF assignments suggest starting with plain cards. You can show them to the baby and tell them what color it is. Repeat until the baby remembers. Then you can make the activity more difficult. For example, collect colorful balls and ask the child to sort them by color.

Important! Didactic games with cards develop thinking well. For example, pictures are cut into two halves. The child must logically find a pair for each picture. You can take a mother animal and her babies.

Modeling

  • Educational games with dough;
  • Modeling from plasticine . Simple craft ideas: part 1, part 2.

Original ideas using improvised means

In addition to pliable plasticine, cereals, threads and cotton pads can be used.

Groats

To perform this technique you will need cardboard, glue, a pencil and any cereals. This is how you can make, for example, a bear - draw an animal, covering everything with glue and sprinkling it with any cereal. With this technique, everything unnecessary will be sprinkled off, and only a relief teddy bear will remain. Mom can show her imagination and complete the contours of the figure in a different color or add additional details.

A curly-haired lamb will look very funny if its coat is made from small pasta, or other animals - there are no restrictions or strict rules, you can depict anything.

Threads

The essence of the work is the same as with cereals, but using threads. They are suitable for making needles for a hedgehog, feathers for birds, hair for a girl, grass, and more.

Cotton pad

Applications with cotton pads are also not very demanding, and they are pleasant to the touch, which will create a wonderful contrast in comparison with work done with buckwheat or other cereals. Examples for crafts with disks could be a snowman, a caterpillar, snowdrifts or a bunny. If the craft is combined with other materials, for example, plasticine, paints and colored paper, then the result will be a whole work of art.

All this work, in addition to its direct functions - to interest and favorably influence the development of the child, will bring a lot of pleasure and emotions. In addition, praise, mutual assistance and communication incredibly bring parents and the baby closer together, giving him an additional opportunity to feel love and care, but at the same time you need to leave a little freedom and space for your child, without depriving him of the opportunity to independently explore, show imagination and learn.

Speech development

  • We learn finger and gesture games;

  • We do articulation exercises;
  • Doing breathing exercises;
  • We recite special poems together that encourage the pronunciation of sounds and words;
  • Speech development games

For example:

Game "Repeat" . An adult pronounces words loudly, quietly or in a whisper. The child repeats with an appropriate level of volume.

Game “What is this for? ” An adult asks why this or that object is needed (table, chair, closet, bed). The child answers.

Game "Wrong Fairy Tale" . An adult tells some well-known fairy tale (Kolobok, for example) with errors. The child corrects, etc.

Simple options for joint crafts

The first time you should give preference to the simplest jobs. If it is clear that the child completed the task quickly and easily, or it did not arouse his interest at all, which is unlikely, since children like to paint, glue, and tear everything, then it is worth moving on to more complex crafts.

Everything is in order: first you can get acquainted with the options for crafts (applique, drawing, crafts with plasticine and other improvised means), and then you can choose the level of difficulty - from simple to complex, by the standards of a two-year-old child.

Application

One of the simplest and most accessible tasks is applications. All you need for this is a base sheet, colored paper, glue, scissors and a little imagination.

If this lesson will be the first in the child’s life, and he is not yet familiar with the means that need to be used, you should immediately tell him what it is, how it works and what can be expected as a result.

Each type of activity can consist of several levels of complexity, in this case it is:

  • Gluing figures in a chaotic order;
  • Gluing forms on a given topic;
  • Multilayer applications.

Chaotic gluing of figures to the base

A small child will willingly take on such a task, because there are no rules or restrictions, and the goal is to familiarize the child with glue and paper, to demonstrate his resourcefulness, logic and the development of fine motor skills.

The main ideas can be geometric shapes of different sizes and colors that need to be placed on a white background. Naturally, parents cut them out first, or you can put the scissors aside and, together with the young student, tear the paper into small pieces, and then stick it up as desired.

Application on a given topic

An excellent activity that can become not only an ordinary craft, but also a game, since by completing a picture you can beat it, inventing a plot or using an already known fairy tale.

The main ideas will be pictures with New Year's and winter themes - glue a Christmas tree onto cardboard, and the child should, at his own discretion, decorate it with the shapes of New Year's toys, or depict a white snowman and snowflakes on a sheet of dark background using prepared figures. The Christmas tree can be replaced with a template of another tree and decorated with colored apples, and if you wish, you can complete the picture by adding the sun, clouds and grass.

Before completing the task, it is worth explaining to the child what is required of him, and what his mastery should look like at the end. To do this, you can show a similar photo or lay out the figures yourself, without gluing them, then take everything apart and entrust the work to the baby.

Multilayer applications

The essence is similar to the previous lesson, but the difference is that when completing a painting you need to use similar elements:

  • Snail - cut out several circles of different sizes and stick them on top of each other, thus creating curls on the shell;
  • Piglet - attach one large circle to the base, and place the head, snout, ears and eyes on it;
  • Rose – several parts are placed on top of one another, creating a lush flower.

Drawing and coloring

Drawing is no less exciting and useful activity. To work you will need a piece of paper, water, a brush and paints (gouache). To interest a child, two techniques will be enough for his age - painting with fingers and using a brush.

Finger paintings

It's simple - soak your finger or palm in paint and make an imprint on the sheet. Drawings can be made completely different - from simple hand marks to a more complex image with a specific storyline or abstraction:

  • Gloves - handprints;
  • Dandelion – add white fluff to the drawn stem with your finger;
  • Aquarium - fill the container with blue water and colored fish, naturally doing everything with your fingers.

Coloring a picture with a brush

A good option to get carried away with your child for more than half an hour. The basis for the work will be a sheet with a pre-prepared image - the child must add colors to it. Of course, it’s better to start with simple drawings on which you can draw: a traffic light, a sunny sky, a chamomile, and so on.

Such lessons help develop concentration, perseverance and thinking.

Crafts with plasticine

Many people know from their childhood that plasticine is not only a material for sitting at a table, but also a full-fledged toy. There are probably no children who do not play with animal figures and cars made from plasticine. But it’s still difficult for two-year-olds to do this, so they have their own age selection:

  • Cloud and rain - on a leaf, in the form of a cloud, knead plasticine, a lot of small peas - this is rain, which is done by pressing with a finger and pulling down, giving the shape of a drop;
  • Colored caterpillar - stick plasticine balls in the form of a caterpillar;
  • Snowman - on a flat base with balls of different sizes, make a snowman, you can add snowflakes, making them using the “droplets” technique from the composition “Cloud and Rain”. Mom can help make buttons and eyes for the snowman.

Games for children from 5 years old

Stringing hearts. Cut out hearts from colored paper. We make a hole in each heart and string it on a cord. We hang the chain.

Outline the hand. We place our hand on the paper. Draw along the outline with a pencil. Cut out and paint with colorful patterns.

Let's draw little people. We wet our finger. Then we dip it in ink and press it to the paper. We draw a little man from the print: we finish drawing the face, arms and legs.

We put up gates from bottle caps. We install a corridor of several gates. To do this, we put two caps together. We push the coins through the gate with our finger.

We count cars. We look out the window. We make a bet on how many cars (or how many cars of a certain color or model) will pass by the house over a period of time.

Guessing the animals . Each one depicts an animal. Others must guess which one.

Game of steps. We climb the stairs step by step. We come up with a name for each new step.

Toy money. We put the coins under the paper. Using a soft pencil, rub over the coin. We cut out paper money.

Swing. One lies down on the blanket, the others lift it higher and swing it.

A room out of a box . We make a room out of a cardboard shoe box. We draw furniture on paper, cut it out and paste it into the box.

Matchbox beds . We make cribs from matchboxes, and cut out suitable size pillows and blankets from paper. We draw little people on paper, cut them out and put them in bed.

We make paper animals. We draw any animals on thick paper. Cut it out. Glue a strip of cardboard as a stand.

Mosaic . Cut out a rectangle from paper. Then cut it into 10 pieces of different shapes. Mix the pieces. You need to make a rectangle out of the pieces again.

First lessons

  • We learn to count - we play the first mathematical games;

  • We study geometric shapes;

  • Learning colors;
  • Playing with words and letters;
  • We teach who lives in which house (a squirrel - in a hollow, a dog - in a booth, a mouse - in a hole, etc.);
  • We teach who eats what (monkey - bananas, hare - carrots, mouse - cheese, etc.)
  • Getting to know the seasons;
  • We learn to classify objects into groups (clothing, dishes, transport, furniture, etc.), find what is superfluous in a group of objects;
  • Remember the names of the fingers;
  • We look through Doman’s cards (we study simple facts using them) or other didactic material that expands the child’s horizons;

Why do you need to do this and what are the benefits?

Handicrafts are a very important area in the overall development of a child, because despite a little chaos, this activity has a lot of positive aspects, namely:

  • Development of fine motor skills, creativity, ability to express one’s opinion and initiative;
  • Memory training;
  • Training robots with various materials;
  • Various tactile sensations;
  • Familiarization or consolidation of already familiar shapes, geometric shapes and colors;
  • Spending time with parents;
  • Concentration of attention;
  • An opportunity to take a break from gadgets and do something interesting.

This is only a small part of the advantages of such activities, and the main thing is that age does not matter, although no - the sooner the better, and if the baby is already more than one and a half years old, you can safely take up appliqué and drawing. You just have to choose something that will be interesting to him.

Logic games

For example:

  • We play with Dienesh's logic blocks;

  • We lay out simple patterns;

  • We assemble simple patterns from Nikitin’s cubes “Fold the pattern”

and etc.

More logic games can be found in the article “Logic games for children 2-3 years old”

Developmental activities for children 2-3 years old

Educational home activities for children aged 2-3 years include modeling, appliqué, exercises for fine and gross motor skills, training logical and creative thinking. They are offered in a playful way so that the baby receives not only benefit from the process, but joy and pleasure.

Developmental activities to study the properties of objects. Developmental music classes

Gradually, it is worth telling your child about the properties of objects. Why the skill is useful: develops abstract thinking, fantasy, imagination. Teaches comparison, teaches how to use the senses (evaluate by touch, by sight).

How to teach in a playful way:

  • Explain to the child what the property of an object is called;
  • ask to sort items by properties.

What to play with:

  • with fabric bags where you can put different fillings;
  • with mosaics made of wood, plastic;
  • with large cubes (Lego Hollow, pyramids, sorters, balls are suitable).

What properties and qualities should you tell your baby about:

  • weight - heavy, light;
  • colors;
  • tactile sensations - hard, soft;
  • warm, cold;
  • size - large, small, wide, narrow;
  • shape: round, triangular, square.

The development of musical ear and rhythm from an early age is very useful for the overall development of the baby. This enriches his inner world, accelerates the development of psycho-emotional connections, develops creative imagination, and improves mood.

Useful musical exercises:

  1. Play noise and children's musical instruments slowly and quickly, quietly and loudly.
  2. Listen and sing along to children's songs.
  3. Listen to classic melodies.
  4. Listen to everyday noises, tell your child about it: the grass rustles, leaves rustle, a car honks, birds sing, a cat meows.
  5. Dance. At a fast and slow pace. Lead round dances, dance and beat time with spoons, rattles, maracas.
  6. Ask the child to show a dancing animal or insect.

Developmental lessons in logic and mathematics

By the age of 2-3 years, it is worth teaching a child to compare many and few and compare the qualities of objects:

  1. We teach comparison. Place two piles of beans, grapes or buttons in front of your baby. First, show and explain where there is more and where there is less. Then change the quantity and ask the child to independently answer the question of which is more (make one pile much smaller than the other so that the baby does not get confused).
  2. We begin to teach the baby simple counting. Simple everyday educational activities with a 2-year-old child include saying the number of steps when you go for a walk with him, finger games with naming the number of fingers. We teach the baby to show his age on his fingers. Learning to count: 1. If there is interest, learn to count to five.
  3. Sorting objects is an excellent educational activity that trains mathematical and logical skills. Sort items by similarity of characteristics: ask them to arrange buttons by color or size (large ones in one pile, small ones in another). Buy a sorter for your baby, where shapes of a certain shape are inserted into large holes. This toy keeps children occupied for a long time and is very useful for their development.

Role-playing games

Ideas for simple story games can be found here and here. From about 2 years old, a child becomes interested not only in watching the scenes that you show him, but also in participating in them himself. Therefore, invite your child to take on some role during the game. Act out simple fairy tales (turnip, bun, hen, etc.).

Basic principles of teaching a 2 year old child

Parents do not always have the opportunity to send their child to kindergarten from the age of two. In such cases, it is recommended to organize training and creative activities at home yourself. It is important to note that all exercises must be performed in a playful manner. It is strictly forbidden to force children to do something without desire. This can completely discourage you from learning in the future.

Classes from 2 years old

Classes for children aged 2-3 years are very easy to organize on your own. For this purpose, there are a huge number of educational games and didactic materials that allow you to diversify your activities. Any activity should be bright, interesting, and deliver only positive emotions. Children immediately lose interest as soon as they realize that they are forcing them.

Music classes

  • Listening to classical music;
  • We play simple outdoor musical games;

Games for children from 2 years old

Hiding the candy . All but one player leaves the room. The remaining one hides a few candies, then calls the others again. The one who finds the most candies wins.

We make boats . We make boats from walnut shells: a little plasticine inside, stick a toothpick in, and glue triangular sails from paper onto it. We let the boats float in a basin or in a bathtub. We blow on them in different directions.

Mother and child (father and child). With a reversal of roles: adults play children and vice versa.

Domino ribbon . We arrange the dominoes one after another into a long ribbon, placing them on a short edge. When the tape is ready, we push the first domino and all the dominoes fall, overturning one after another.

We look at the photographs . We take out old albums. We come up with and tell stories to accompany the photographs.

We destroy the tower . We build a tower from boxes or cubes. From some distance we try to destroy it with a ping pong ball.

Horse racing . We ride on a tightly inflated balloon until it bursts.

Skittles . We place cubes or skittles on the carpet and knock them down with a tennis ball.

We are building a house . Cover the table with a large tablecloth or blanket. We climb under the table. The main thing is not to forget provisions.

Speedwalking competition . Everyone puts on very large shoes and runs a race through the entire apartment.

We sort the cubes (can/bottle lids) . We sort all the cubes by color and shape.

We are looking for pictures . The participant in the game looks for a picture in an illustrated book. Names one of its characteristics. Others have to guess.

Witch game . We lay out a circle from the rope. This is a witch's house, in which one of the players - a witch - lies in wait for prey. The rest are crawling around the witch's house. When the witch comes out, everyone runs away very quickly.

Dog game . One player is chosen as a dog. Others lead him on a leash throughout the apartment.

We give names . We come up with some funny name for each finger. We come up with short stories about them.

Sitting football . Two players sit opposite each other and play with a ping pong ball with their feet.

Let's play traffic . Using a thick brush and paints, we draw streets on a large sheet of paper. When the paints are dry, we begin driving the toy car around the roads.

Physical activity

  • We walk on a massage mat (Ozone, My-shop);
  • We learn to walk along a line or footprints taped to the floor;
  • We learn to jump up, trying to touch an object located just above outstretched arms;
  • We learn to jump over a rope or obstacle 10-20 cm wide.
  • Learning to stand on one leg;
  • Learning to walk on tiptoes;
  • We throw small balls or pebbles with one hand into the distance, throw the ball with both hands from behind the head;
  • We throw balls at a horizontal target (for example, a basket standing on the floor);
  • We get used to doing exercises in the morning;
  • We learn to act on a signal. For example, the following motor games will be useful:

Game "Traffic Light" . The adult says “Green” (or shows a green card) - the child walks or pretends to be driving a car. The adult says “Red” (shows the red card) - the child stands.

Game "Planes" . On command, we start the engines (rotate our arms in front of our chests, say “rrrr”), take off (arms to the sides), go for landing (slowly stop, lower our arms).

Game "Day-Night" . When an adult says “day”, the child runs, when “night” he freezes and “sleeps”.

A two-year-old child and the peculiarities of his thinking

Psychologists say that the second year of life for children is a period of crisis. They begin to actively study the world around them and realize the difficulties it can bring them.

On a note! The task of parents is to help the child overcome the crisis period.

Parents often make a big mistake, believing that at two years old it is not worth teaching a child anything, since he will not understand. But when they begin to raise him, it turns out that time is lost. In the first five years of a child’s life, the foundations of education are laid. The most important years are considered to be 1.5-2.

At the age of two years, the child should speak. Thanks to this, the development of his self-awareness accelerates. It is through speech communication that he receives most of the information that is necessary for development. It is important for parents to pay as much attention as possible to speech formation during this period. At the age of one and a half years, the baby already knows how to call a spade a spade. By the age of two, he already develops the ability to combine up to three words into a phrase.

Important! When a child reaches his third year, his thinking changes from visual-effective to visual-figurative. It differs in that all actions with material objects are replaced by images. The internal development of thinking is based on the formation of concepts.

By the end of the second year, children begin the “why” period. The child becomes persistent, he demands an answer to the question posed. The attitude towards the answer received is already expressed. At three years old, the child begins to see himself from the outside; he is already able to control his behavior.
